Our Healthy Oaty Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe

With Christmas over and the New Year beginning, and spring on the horizon we thought we would make the most of the cold weather to cosy up with a hot drink and some delicious home cooked healthy Oaty Chocolate chip cookies.

Our recipe is super easy to make so it can be a lovely past time for a cold winter afternoon.

For the cookies you will need:

75g wholemeal flour

200g Oats

100g Brown sugar or sugar alternative (agave syrup or honey are great)

150g Butter

1 tsp baking powder

1 tbs Milk (more if mixture is too dry)

Pinch of salt

Chocolate chips (white, milk or dark)

Oven needs to be at 175 C - make sure it's hot before putting the cookies in.

Mix the butter and sugar together and then sit the flour and baking powder over and mix together. Add the oats and milk and pinch of salt and mix until there is an even texture. Add the chocolate chips and stir through until evenly distributed.

Roll the cookie mixture into balls and pop onto baking tray, then use a spoon to flatten.

These will need to go in a hot oven for approximately 12-18 minutes.

When cooked they will be a lovely golden brown colour, don't cook for too long if you like a soft cookie, they will harden once you take them out of the oven.

Serve with milk or a hot drink, by a nice log fire preferably. Delicious.
