Supporting your child with the transition back into school

Updated: May 18

With children going back to school today many of us will be feeling apprehensive about this change. We at Oakleaf Private Childcare have seven simple things we would like to share with you which will support your child during this transition.

1. Make time to catch up at the end of every day and make it a special time between the two of you.

2. Create some nice routines like "Treat Wednesday" to help brighten up the middle of the week.

3. Create a schedule for homework-and even hobbies too. Here are some excellent homework scheduling Apps https://parentzone.org.uk/article/5-apps-help-kids-their-homework 4. Regular healthy snacks and plenty of water to stay hydrated and taking a Multi vitamin and an Omega 3 supplement. 5. Encourage passions and interests. Having a hobby or extra-curricular activities at this time will help keep a balance. 6. Yoga and breathing exercises are a great way to help manage emotions and Yogizoo provide yoga with story telling which is lots of fun too. www.yogizoo.com

7. Educational Apps. See https://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/ for their favourite educational Apps which will make learning more like play and are good fun.

Keep safe, always.
